Animal Carcasses
Riverside County Landfills are permitted and CAN accept dead animals of any size under certain conditions:
1. The animals must be from a resident or home.
2. The animal load is charged Hard to Handle, Immediate Burial
Riverside County Landfills are Not permitted to, and CANNOT accept dead animals from commercial farming operations i.e.: Dairy Farms, Chicken Ranches, Hog Farms etc. without prior approval on a case by case basis from CDFA. Food Waste

Cooking Oil
The ABOP sites in Pedley, Murrieta and Palm Springs are now accepting cooking oil from residents only.  Cooking oil is becoming more of a liquids issue at our landfill sites now that deep frying turkeys has become popular.  This cooking oil is being manufactured into biodiesel fuel and cattle feed so it is truly recycled!

Mobile Homes
Riverside County Landfills can accept mobile homes for disposal under the following conditions:
·         All appliances must be removed i.e.; hot water heater, stoves, AC and heating units, washers dryers etc.
·         Mobil Homes must be road worthy and must fit on our scales (no more then 9 feet wide)
The disposal of any mobile home requires a Notification of Demolition or Asbestos Removal form be filed and approved by the local AQMD

Prescription Medications
The Riverside County Waste Management Department will accept small, incidental prescription medications in waste loads.  The Department does not accept prescription medications from hospitals, doctor offices or any other business.  If you are a business needing to dispose of prescription medications, please contact a pharmacy or go to http://rxinsider.com/pharmacy_returns_and_waste_removal_providers.htm for more options.  The following company accepts most prescription drugs that are no more than ten years past the expiration date. Please delete your name and prescription number from the bottle label with a black marker.  Prescriptions are sent to India through the Prajanananda Charitable Group, where volunteer doctors and nurses disperse medications to help individuals in dire medical need.
