California Penal Code Section 374.8: "Any person who knowingly causes any hazardous substance to be deposited on any road, street, highway, alley, or any land of another . . . is punishable by prison in county jail for not more than one year, or a fine of no less than $50 and not more that $10,000 or by both fine and imprisonment.
California Code of Regulations:
California Code of Regulations Section 25189.c: (c) Any person who intentionally disposes or causes the disposal of any hazardous or extremely hazardous waste at a point which is not authorized according to the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to a civil penalty of not less than one thousand dollars ($1,000) or more that twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) for each violation.
