Compost Bin Construction Tips
- Read entire directions before starting project.
- Always measure twice, and cut once.
- Saw blade cuts are about 1/8" wide and need to be included in all measurements.
- Using salvaged lumber saves money and natural resources.
- Salvaged lumber may not have the same thicknesses as new lumber, and may require adjusting measurements.
- Redwood is expensive, but can last 10 years or more.
- Fir is less expensive, but may only last 3-8 years.
- All wood lasts longer if treated annually.
- Experiment to create the best bin for you.
