Riverside County Waste Management Department has received a grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board for Waste Tire Collections.  Waste tires pose two environmental concerns.  Abandoned tires can harbor unwanted insect pests and diseases.  The second threat from abandoned tires is fire and the smoke and residue left behind from burning tires.  Riverside County Residents can bring their waste tires to any of the events listed below.

Limitations:
  • No more than 9 tires per trip  (State law prohibits residents from transporting more than 9 waste tires at a time.)
  • Passenger and light truck tires only.

  • No foam fill tires accepted.

Everyday Tire Recycling

If you miss the Tire Amnesty Collection Events paid for by this grant, you can still recycle your tires. Contact local tire retail stores in your area to see if they will accept your tires for recycling. They will charge a small fee to cover their expenses.

Tires are accepted at Riverside County Landfills

Tires will be accepted at the following Riverside County Landfills:

Badlands, Lamb Canyon and Blythe.

Our Fee Rates are $1.00 per tire, for up to 9 tires (the legal limit to haul tires is maximum of 9 tires per trip, unless hauling vehicle is a Registered Tire Hauler).  If you are hauling a load of tires and solid waste, the $1.00 per tire will be charged in addition to a regular refuse fee. If hauling more than 9 tires, and tire manifest documentation is provided, the load is charged at $92.87 per ton.

To find more information on becoming a Registered Tire Hauler go to: http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/Tires/Haulers/
